"King, Legend, Friend": Author Paulo Coelho Praises This Indian Actor

Author Paulo Coelho, who has written several books such as 'The Alchemist', 'Brida' and 'Eleven Minutes' recently took to Twitter to praise actor Shah Rukh Khan. The author gave a shout-out to the actor.

He wrote, "King. Legend. Friend. But above all GREAT ACTOR (for those who don't know him in the West, I strongly suggest "My name is Khan- and I am not a terrorist")"

Along with his tweet, he also shared a video which shows a sea of fans outside the actor's Mumbai home, Mannat, to get a glimpse of him.

SRK in the caption wrote, "Mehmaan Nawaazi Pathaan ke ghar par... Thank u all my Mehmaans for making my Sunday so full of love. Grateful. Happy. Loved."

The post has over 1.3 million views on Twitter with an array of reactions from social media users. Many users thanked the author for sharing the video. "Two inspiring people.My favourite Actor & Author. Truer words were never spoken, all above. Additionally ..@iamsrk's humility and grace while being a huge Megastar."

Another user commented, "Wooww… and what a way to introduce to those who don't know him."

The third wrote, "Paulo thank you man you always stand by our king SRK lots and lots of love."

SRK's recent release 'Pathaan' has smashed all records. The film is expected to overtake Dangal's total collections in its second weekend, coming up.

"Pathaan shows no signs of fatigue. Collects a big, fat number of Day 8 (Wednesday). Remarkable. Will cross Dangal in Weekend 2," tweeted Mr Adarsh.

This is not the first time, Paulo showered praises for the 'Pathaan' actor. In 2017, the author congratulated the actor on the seventh anniversary of the movie 'My Name Is Khan'. In his post, he wrote, "His first (and only) movie that I watched (this year, even if it was released in 2008) was My Name is Khan. And not only was the movie excellent, but SRK deserved an Oscar if Hollywood was not manipulated. He kindly offered to send the other titles - as you probably guess, it is not easy to find them in Switzerland."

The actor in his response wrote, "Thank u so much. My next journey is to try and meet u in person. Love and health to u."

'Next Superstars': Anil Kumble Lavishes Praise On Team India Duo

Former India captain Anil Kumble was all praise for youngsters Arshdeep Singh and Ishan Kishan. During a recent discussion, Kumble was asked to pick two players who could be the next superstars for India. In the bowling department, Kumble chose Arshdeep, having worked with him at Punjab Kings, while Kishan was his pick in the batting department, adding that both players have done extremely well in whatever cricket they have played at international level.

"Having worked closely with someone like Arshdeep, it's wonderful to see him grow into what he's done for India. I would look at Arshdeep as the next superstar bowler coming through. From a batting perspective, Ishan Kishan is someone who's been wonderful in the opportunities he's got. He got a double hundred and he's someone who I think will be a superstar," Kumble said on Jio Cinema's show Legends Lounge.

Arshdeep, who made his T20I debut against England in July 2022, has been under the scanner for bowling a barrage of no balls in his last five appearances in T20Is.

He conceded five no balls in the 2nd T20I against Sri Lanka last month, the most by an Indian bowler in the format.

Kishan, on the other hand, scored a double ODI hundred against Bangladesh last year. However, he was dropped from the team for the home ODI series against Sri Lanka last month.

He got a chance to play the ODIs against New Zealand, but had to bat down the order due to the presence of captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill at the top of the order.

"Have A Simple Rule": Hardik Pandya's Mantra On 'Life And Captaincy'

Opening batter Shubman Gill, who played a major role in India's 168-run win over New Zealand to clinch the three-match T20I series with his maiden ton, on Wednesday said he did not do anything extra during his big knock. Gill remained not out on 126 to help India post a massive 234 for 4 after electing to bat. India then bowled New Zealand out for a meagre 66 in 12.1 overs to post their biggest win in terms of runs.

"It feels good when you practise and it pays off. Happy to get the big ones for the team. Everybody has a different technique to hit sixes," Gill said at the post-match presentation.

"Hardik bhai told me to bat the way I do, and that there is no need to do anything extra. When you are representing your country, I don't think there's any kind of fatigue, and I am happy to play all three formats."

Captain Hardik Pandya said he normally goes by his gut feeling while taking decisions on the field.

"I have always played the game like this, tried to read the situation and what's required at that moment, and not have pre-conceived ideas. A lot of time I back my guts," said Pandya, who was named player-of-the-series.

"I have got a very simple rule about my life and captaincy -- if I go down, I go down on my decisions. When I played the IPL final, I felt the second innings was spicier. We want to normalise these pressure games, and hopefully we can do better at bigger stages."

A disappointed New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner gave credit to India for playing "outstanding" cricket.

"Some of their guys are in great nick at the moment. It is tough to win when you lose five wickets in the powerplay. It can be challenging when the ball is swinging.

"If you look at the way India played, they took their time early on and when it got flat, they really had a go at us," Santner said.

Asked about the ODI World Cup in India later this year, Santner said, "I guess that time of the year there will be some dew around, most teams might bowl first.

"We've seen some great wickets, if it is like that in October it will be a great World Cup to be part of and to learn. I think 320 would be the score we'd want to restrict teams to then."
